1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you use our website (https://algopulse.ai/) or the Application. This Policy also covers technologies with a similar function — browser local storage and session storage, used for the same purposes as the cookies described below. We do not use advertising pixels or dedicated tracking SDKs (see Section 3) — cookies and local/session storage are the only such technologies we use. These files let the Service and Application remember your actions and settings for a period of time, so you do not have to provide them again on every visit or when navigating between pages.
2. Why we use them
We use cookies for exactly two purposes: (a) ensuring the Service and Application function correctly and securely — maintaining a logged-in User’s session, authentication, abuse prevention, and server load balancing (without these, logging in and using an Account is not possible); and (b) analyzing how the Service is used — visit counts, page popularity, traffic sources — exclusively through Google Analytics, described in Section 5. We do not use cookies for advertising or remarketing purposes, we do not use conversion pixels, and we do not profile Users for direct marketing.
3. Categories of cookies we use
ESSENTIAL (no consent required, under Art. 173(3)(2) of the Polish Telecommunications Law, as cookies strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the User): session maintenance, authentication, security, server load balancing. Rejecting these is not possible without impairing the Service — in particular, logging in and using an Account requires them. ANALYTICS (consent required, given through the consent banner): usage statistics via Google Analytics, with advertising features disabled (Section 5), and local storage for first-touch UTM tracking. Rejecting these has no effect on service availability — you can fully use the Service and Application without giving this consent. We do not use functional cookies (e.g., remembering interface preferences beyond the session) or marketing/advertising cookies. If we introduce such a feature in the future, we will update this Policy and ask for your consent before using it.

5. Third-party cookies
The only third party whose tools set cookies in the Service is Google LLC (USA), the provider of Google Analytics. We use it exclusively for analytics purposes — advertising features (Google Signals, remarketing lists) are disabled in our configuration, so Google does not use this data to target ads or combine it with other Google data about you for that purpose. Data collected by Google Analytics may be transferred to the United States, under Standard Contractual Clauses (EC Decision 2021/914) — see Privacy Policy Section 7 (Transfers Outside the EEA) for details. More information: Google’s privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy), Google Analytics Terms of Service (https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/), and the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). We do not use any other third-party cookie-setting tools (in particular, no Meta Pixel or other remarketing tools, heatmap tools, or session-recording tools).
6. Consent: how to give, change, and withdraw it
On your first visit to the Service, we display a consent management banner (Consent Management Platform: vanilla-cookieconsent 3.x — an open-source library, self-hosted; your choice is stored in the cc_cookie cookie for 6 months), with “Accept All” and “Reject All” buttons given equal visual prominence — rejecting non-essential cookies takes one click, just like accepting them. You can also customize consent individually for the category described in Section 3. We remember your choice for 12 months, after which the banner will be shown again. You may change or withdraw consent at any time from the cookie settings available in the Service footer — the change takes effect immediately and is just as simple as giving consent in the first place.
7. Managing cookies in your browser
Regardless of your choices in our consent banner, you can manage cookies directly in your browser — block them entirely, delete stored cookies, or set a notification before they are stored. Instructions for popular browsers: Chrome (https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647), Firefox (https://support.mozilla.org/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-desktop), Safari (https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471/mac), Microsoft Edge (https://support.microsoft.com/microsoft-edge/delete-cookies-in-microsoft-edge-63947406-40ac-c3b8-57b9-2a946a29ae09). Warning: blocking essential cookies (Section 3) will prevent you from logging in and using an Account — the Service and Application will not function correctly.
8. Cookies and the rights of US residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), sharing data with third parties for cross-context advertising purposes may constitute a “Sale” or “Sharing” of personal information, regardless of whether money changes hands. We do not use any cookies or technologies for cross-context advertising in the Service. The only third-party tool we use is Google Analytics, configured with advertising features disabled (Section 5) — accordingly, no “Sale” or “Sharing” of personal information occurs under the CCPA/CPRA. For this reason, we do not provide a separate “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism and we do not process the Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out mechanism — there is nothing to opt out of. See Privacy Policy Section 13 (US Residents’ Rights) for the full disclosure.
9. Changes to this Policy and contact
We may update this Policy, in particular if we change the tools we use or if the law changes. If a change affects the categories of cookies described in Section 3 or the list of third parties in Section 5, we will notify you through the consent banner on your first visit after the change takes effect, and we will ask you to give consent again. We retain and make available archival versions of this Policy on request. For questions about this Policy, contact us at: privacy@algopoetica.ai.
